Product Description

On this event we aim to do the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in 3 days. This is more of a leisurely approach as to climbing all 3 Peaks in 12 hours. The mountains are Pen y Ghent at 694m, Ingleborough at 724m and Whernside at 736m.

The 3 peaks area covers 160 square km. Most of the area is a site of special scientific interest and attracts thousands of people each year and is the most popular outdoor area in the Yorkshire Dales. For this walk you would need to arrange your own accommodation, In Horton there are 2 pubs, bed and breakfasts, campsites and bunk barns, the nearest YHA hostel is located in Ingleton.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Meet at Ribblehead climb Whernside, 11 miles
We start from Ribblehead going beside the railway following the Craven Way then branching left going past Whernside Tarns, then onto the summit of Whernside, then making our way down to Bruntscar then Branching left back to Ribblehead

Day 2 – Meet at Horton climb Ingleborough, 12 miles
From Horton we follow the 3 peaks route up Ingleborough then going towards Clapham before branching left and making our way back to Horton

Day 3 – Meet at Horton climb Pen-y-Ghent 8 miles
From Horton we follow the 3 peaks route up Pen-y-Ghent continuing up to Whitber hill then branching left back to Horton
