about me

Since childhood, I have been fueled by creativity and ambition.
Looking back, these qualities have helped me in so many ways.

I have always loved writing and interacting with people, and I don’t ever remember when I wasn’t striving towards my goals. When I turned 15, I left my childhood home in Manchester in search of a better and safer environment to help me achieve my dreams.

I couldn’t wait to leave school to earn some money. I didn’t know any other ways and bounced around various jobs in call centres, restaurants, and retail stores.

When I was 18 years old, I became the youngest manager in my company. I then went on to provide resource and talent strategy for several blue-chip organisations throughout the UK such as Santander, Centrica, Marks & Spencer & Allied Bakeries, Allied Irish Bank & Ricoh. Over the years, I have successfully managed and implemented various multi-million-pound projects, earning recognition and awards for my work.

It’s no surprise that I ended up working in the recruitment and HR industry, as it involves working with people. Throughout my career, I’ve had both positive and negative experiences. My job has allowed me to make some of my closest friends and travel to different parts of the world. It’s been a wild ride, marked by taking various risks, some of which have paid off while others haven’t

Rediscovering Myself

A critical moment arrived when everything I had known began to fall apart. I felt lost, anxious and was crippled with health anxiety. The foundations I had built my life on started to crumble, and I gradually realised that I was merely going through the motions and not truly living my life. I then understood that I had not just burned out but was burned ‘in’. I lost my identity, and at the same time, I didn’t want to find it again. I knew there was something better out there for me, but I couldn’t quite reach it.

In 2013, I deepened my journey of self-discovery, delving deep into more self-awareness and exploring various other fields such as neuroscience and philosophy. I rediscovered my passion for psychology, which had always been hidden within me. This thirst for knowledge motivated me to pursue further education at 38. Starting university was a liberating experience, and I felt an immediate sense of belonging. This educational and personal journey has been life-changing, inspiring me to complete a significant research project on cultivating authenticity and write a book to help others.
