We recently delivered a full stage build for a corporate awards ceremony at the Hilton Metropole Birmingham, creating a bold, modern setup designed to work seamlessly with a large LED wall and multiple event spaces.
The brief was all about keeping things high end and impactful, while making sure the space worked practically for presenters, production teams, and guests.
The Main Stage
At the heart of the project was a 28m x 5m main stage, built using our Event-Deck® system .
We kept the look sharp and minimal:
- 600mm stage height for strong presence in the room
- Dual access 4m wide stair sets for easy presenter flow
- Bespoke circular entrance feature, designed to frame the LED wall
- Solid painted black fascia for a seamless finish across all visible edges
Finishes That Make the Difference
This build was all about the detail.
We used:
- Sustainable black carpet tiles across the stage
- Clean solid painted fascia lines with no visible joins – sanded and painted on site
- Proper edge detailing of aluminium nosing for a tidy, professional look
It’s those finishing touches that take a stage from functional to something that really stands out on camera and in the room.
Supporting Staging
Alongside the main stage, we installed a number of additional elements to support the event:
- A secondary LED stage at the rear of the central circle walkway
- Teleprompt and camera platforms to support production
- Bespoke set flats and tech masking to keep everything looking clean and hide all infrastructure
- A custom circular masking feature to match the main stage design and sit seamlessly inside the LED wall panels to mask all the edges of the LED panels
Everything was designed to tie in visually, so the whole space felt consistent.
DJ Booth & Evening Setup
For the entertainment side, we built a bespoke DJ booth and stage from our modular staging system :
- Custom DJ table with a solid black fascia finish
- Raised platform for better visibility
- Clean, simple design to match the overall look
It created a dedicated area that worked just as well visually as the main stage.
Foyer & Entrance Features
We also worked on the foyer space to help set the tone as guests arrived:
- 1.5m x 1.5m podium staging and plinths for welcome moments
- Solid painted black fascia clean finish to keep everything on brand
- Layout designed to guide guests through the space naturally
Delivered Start to Finish
From planning through to install and derig, the whole project was managed by our team:
- Full CAD design and project planning
- On-site installation and breakdown
- Coordinated logistics and transport
Everything was delivered on schedule and ready to go for the event.
The Result
This project is a great example of how modular staging can be turned into something that feels completely bespoke.
Clean design, strong features like the circular entrance, and consistent finishes throughout helped create a professional, high-end environment that worked perfectly for a corporate audience.
